Pull the vent and look down the hole should be a small orange or black rubber piece. It seams to fall apart pretty quick these days .

036 tank , I think it should be the same. Is this what you see. 1413348009308485326448.jpg
There should be a rubber duck bill piece that goes in this hole.

My 034 has the older style vent, just a piece of plastic that pushes on over a nipple on the tank. The vent had a u turn and a grub screw in it.

Not sure if/when the newer vent design was implemented.

Thanks for the picture. The vent on my 034 and 024 are like what Mastermech describes. I was going to get a picture of one of them but I forgot to. I'll grab one tomorrow.

You still should have the valve in the tank . #17 or #18 depending on the tank 1413513987665506193950.jpg

I didn't see anything in mine. I'll have to run be the dealer sometime and order the valve.

I finally got the flap valve at the dealer yesterday. I can turn both saws upside down and they don't leak gas. Thanks for your help.

If anyone else has a 024 or 034 (i think this part fits many saws) that leaks gas out the vent here is the part number for the style vent my saw have and what it looks like.

To put the flap valve in drain the gas and turn the saw upside down and you can reach in and press it in place.
