Pull the vent and look down the hole should be a small orange or black rubber piece. It seams to fall apart pretty quick these days .
036 tank , I think it should be the same. Is this what you see. There should be a rubber duck bill piece that goes in this hole.
My 034 has the older style vent, just a piece of plastic that pushes on over a nipple on the tank. The vent had a u turn and a grub screw in it. Not sure if/when the newer vent design was implemented.
Thanks for the picture. The vent on my 034 and 024 are like what Mastermech describes. I was going to get a picture of one of them but I forgot to. I'll grab one tomorrow.
I finally got the flap valve at the dealer yesterday. I can turn both saws upside down and they don't leak gas. Thanks for your help. If anyone else has a 024 or 034 (i think this part fits many saws) that leaks gas out the vent here is the part number for the style vent my saw have and what it looks like. To put the flap valve in drain the gas and turn the saw upside down and you can reach in and press it in place.
I have had two saws leak from the vent - Husq 50 and 51 - new vent on the 50 and no leak, just got my new vent today - will put that in this pm. Cheers!
