That's funny right there! Man can moose not smell very well cause I'm pretty sure most white tails would have scented me long before they stood there staring for that long lol
Oh these moose know you are there. Seldoms bother them. They'll walk right up by you sometimes. When we see one on the side of the road and we stop to look, they see us, but often just ignore us and keep doing what ever they want. I've seen them wonder into the yard as if they had no concerns whatsoever.
