I have been thinking about and talking to the powers that be about having a get together at my farm here in Central Virginia next year. I am really busy in the spring and the summer is too hot so I was thinking the third weekend in September the 19th and 20th. My place is pretty easy to get to, It is basically next to an interstate. Lots of room. People could bring tents or campers and camp out. I have a big burn pile that I usually burn in the fall that makes for a nice bonfire. I would like to have some mellow saw races and maybe do a charity cut. And roast part or all of a pig Saturday evening. Just seeing what sort of interest there is. You can see where I am located by going on the member map and clicking the icon in the north central part of Virginia.
With that much notice, I'm down.. I need to be the one who drives several hours to a GTG. Had 6 members last weekend who drove between 4-6 hours to get here. Cant thank them enough! ! It was a blast!
Yep. I'm down. Several of us could go together. Get to chat saws for several hours on the drive down... I would probably make a weekend out of it. Go down the day before and camp out, runs saws and eat, then have a few beverages and camp out again, then leave Sunday morning..
Anyone that wanted to do that would be welcome. I figure the gates open Friday evening and you are welcome for the whole weekend.
