My wife asked me the other day why I always sit in the seat I do at the dinner table when the other seat has a view of the whole backyard. I told her cause this one faces one of the woodpiles.

Every window on the back of my house has a view of the wood pile. Only problem would be that I need to either raise the toilet or lower the bathroom window.

Better get to it or make the piles high enough to see.

I do sit on stacks of rounds over there and relax sometimes... Great place to have a beer!

Welcome to the "my wife thinks I'm weird for loving firewood" club. Mine reminds me that I'm in that club almost daily from about September to May.

Maybe we should add a new forum (support group) for the wives. I think it would be hilarious to see what they would say about us regarding firewood

That's an easy problem to solve! Just have a wood pile outside EVERY window! :coffee:

Right where I want to be.
I can see the woodshed right out 2 of the front windows of the stove room.
If my wife ever complained about having too much wood (she hasn't exactly complained, yet), I'd not have a fire.
If she complained it was cold, I'd tell her to turn on the furnace,.......then pay the gas bill.:dancer:
I'm fairly cutthroat when it comes to some things..........firewood is one, I guess.
She asked me to start a fire last night, and it was still 68 in the living room. :D

Good post, this is totally me and my wife (at times) I'm thinking the support group thing may be in order soon.
Everytime I get caught sniffing freshly split wood I get "the look".
Even worse is when we are in the car driving along and I see some stacks from a distance and then when
she finally sees them, she looks over at me to see if I see what she just saw (confusing, I know) I pretend not to know whats going on. Then she'll utter, "I know you saw it" LOL

My honey must be as nuts as I am. Lately she always points out log piles and/or stacked firewood, before I do when we're driving around. That's a new development... Just today, I was burning a bunch of brush in the firepit and she asks me if I want lunch out there.... Had to :headbang: to see if I was dreamin'. :D

I go look out the bathroom window at the woodshed while brushing my teeth every night, she's never asked I just assume she knows.
