Home from hospital

We wish to thank everyone for their support and prayers and we wanted let our friends know that the ornery one has returned home. The last 2 days were rough for both of us.

We arrived at the hospital about 10 minutes early but this meant we missed all of the eclipse but we enjoyed a full moon all the way to the big city.

They took her to surgery around 7:15 (we got there before 5:00 am). I got word about 2 hours later that all was well. Another 2 hours and I got word again. Around 1:15 they told me she was then in recovery. Then about an hour or so later they told me they were waiting for a room for her and as soon as she was in that room, I could finally see her. Well, another 2 hours later I was taken to the recovery room and they told us they still did not have a room ready. After about another hour, they told us a room was ready but they still had some cleaning to do in it. I finally left around 5:00 and they got her to her room shortly after that.

Yesterday was another long day as we had to wait for certain things to happen before she could be released. Finally around 5:00 I went to get the car so she could come home! What a relief for both of us. We had to stop only one time on the way home for her to visit the little girl's room. Shortly after we got home she was in bed. She got a good night's sleep (and so did I) and this morning she is up and active. Very, very little discomfort and she has not taken any pain medicine at all since surgery. Her joints are still aching from lack of anti-inflamatory but she is back on them so all should be well soon.

Right now, she is actually calling the doctor's office to make sure she does no harm. She wants to go pick raspberries! However, I have doubts there will be many good ones because we've had so many cold nights with frost. 33 degrees this morning. (She just got off the phone and they told her to not bend or lift but other than that she should be okay.)

 

That's awesome news, Dennis! Glad to hear everything went well, tell Judy we're all glad she did well!!

Well, we're home at least. My back is still paying the price for sitting in those hospital chairs for 2 days. I've got to bring some wood to the porch this afternoon and hope that will help. btw, this will be the second trailer load to the porch this year but it is a small trailer.
