So much for a pellet war.
Me too! Might not bother refilling as quick as I thought I would. Might have to ride these to next spring?

Just pulled the trigger on a 5th ton from HD (.com) for 239 less 10% on Discover. Not sure what they have in the 23 tons on hand, but they will be shoulders with Sets in reserve.

Looks like my testing purchases are coming to an abrupt end. TSC up from $4.99 to $5.29 and Lowes up from $4.98 to $5.58? Any bets on how long it will take for Home Depot to follow suit? Holy mackerel. $335 for a ton of pellets at Lowes? I paid that for Okie DFs in July!

Curious to see what impact (if any) this will have on the shortages reported in some areas. I suspect at least some percentage of customers are going to think twice about paying these prices for pellets, especially considering how low oil is now!

Me too, I couldn't help myself trying the Sets this week. Usually not burning until the 15th.

Gas and oil going down, pellets going up! Hum. I think oil will alway do its own thing so pellets are not going to be able to support prices above a certain point. Should be interesting to see what happens to the tuxedo priced pellets when the more "common" pellets move on up. There will be a price point that that pricy pellets and oil might not have a spread wide enough to continue their popularity. Natural gas is moving in to the cities all around here. Most of those home don't burn wood or pellets. So the oil is going to take another hit. Many of the larger facilities have or are transitioning to NG. So the increase in popularity in NG and the decrease in oil consumption will not allow for pellets to continue to increase in price.

I wouldn't be surprised if some just say WTH and just go to oil. Not just for the cost increase of pellets, But the availability at the dealers. Many can't find any, Dealers limiting stock and not excepting new customers. Some with the picky stoves are having issues with what the stuff they could find.

    And its only just begun!
