We have a family like that, finally told them cash when we deliver, will be more $$if we have to come back to collect.
I think I have 20-25 cords of wood split and stacked. Figured I’d try to sell as much oak as I could since that’s what everyone seems to buy. No shortage for me to burn on cold night though! Also thought that faster/hotter burning wood might be better in the cookstove we bought.
Yep, this is a family we try to help, they depend on the wood for heat. Luckily they live in the town where I work.
This dude can’t wait to get the green. Hey Jim. Any idea the time you bringing the green wood tomorrow?
Hopefully he isn't burning it anytime soon, but that's not neither here nor there for you. Will he become a regular for green?
I can’t imagine him wanting more, but it will definitely still be smoldering in the morning. I thought about splitting his load this afternoon so it’s extra fresh.
It seems like after a time or two they would learn to appreciate the help. Doesn’t cost any more for them to pay C.O.D. than it does to pay later. In fact, with me, after about the second time, it would be cheaper to pay at the time of delivery than to make me come back. Sounds like a little bit of manipulation just for the sake of it. It’s not like they don’t know the delivery is coming is it?
I dont/wont unload any wood until I've been paid, I pull out my phone and get the firewood cord calculator on here opened, than I grab my tape measure and start measuring, most will stop me and say it looks good, than I say, well if your happy with the quality and quanity of the wood give me the cash and I will start unloading, people usually have to go inside to get the $ and when they pay I unload.
