Split the last of the rounds at the yard cut today. Around a face cord. Left the splits there until I meet up with him and figure out what they want. Ill grab the Walnut log in the morning as its headed to the miller. Hydro brought back to the woodyard. Ill meet with them this weekend to finalize the details.

Score yielded over two cords so far...TOH, dead sugar maple, red maple, black walnut and oak.

Hit the woodyard for a bit yesterday. Bucked and split the slab wood from Thursdays milling at buzz'saw's. BW went for bundle inventory. HL will get mixed with oak.

Moved the BW and some cottonwood next door and stacked. Did a bundle delivery after.

Job yesterday took me near the cottonwood cut. Finished one big CW log then started on the NM log. Bucked a few rounds then nicked a rock. Switched to the 25" bar and cut a bit more. What's left not worth the effort.
One smaller NM log I fished out after. Another big CW looks possible. The rest too difficult and dirty plus sitting for too long to be worth it. Half a load I'll split today.

Finally finished up replacing what I burned last season and got that section of the stacks re-covered and ready for winter. Officially sitting back at around 36-37 cord. This year's replacement fodder consists mostly of red and white oak, hard maple, lots of black locust and a little ash and apple.

Final filling of the section I burned last season.....

Standing on top of the stacks for a quick pic of the whole cache.....around 70' long, over 12' wide and 5.5' high.

Do you shutdown and swap as soon as you hit the rock? I find that I will usually continue cutting and evaluate whether the chain can continue or not. Rocks aren't bad here but I get my tip in dirt and schmudge pretty regular. I usually will continue unless the chain fails to feed itself or starts making dust.

Saw lots of sparks and it was duller than my love life when I attempted the next cut.

Split Mondays cut off the truck on Tuesday and sorted. Good amount went for bundle inventory some maple came back here to almost top off a stack. Some CW went to fire pit wood.

I then moved the splitter to the abandoned part of my wood yard to start splitting some white oak I cut in June 2021! Been putting it off, obviously! :emb: Split maybe a quarter cords worth and delivered the heartwood splits to my friends shed. The rest with punky sapwood will go in my other friends shed. Maybe 3/4 cord left to process. I worked the driest chunks on top for now.

Yesterday I moved Tuesdays splitting along with some smoker wood to the bundle shed. Did more sorting, stacking and top covering before the rain hits. Have a pile of cottonwood to move today. After that I'm in good shape to bring in fresh inventory. :woodsign: Jonesing to hit the new cut. Maybe this weekend. :saw:

More sorting, moving and top covering yesterday ahead of the rain. Nice three weeks of no rain helped helped dry things out a lot. Moved a half cord of cottonwood to the bundle shed and stacked. With what I've moved and maybe a quarter cord still left in the pile close to a cord of the stuff with a bit more still at the score. Not that I really want that much but it dries fast and I mix a piece or two in the bundles. Helps the dry inventory keep up with demand. I mix a little in as I'm filling the shed, but keep the rest aside to use when dry.

One more cut at the cottonwood location soon then onto the next cut.
