No fire yet in central NC but the Regency Hampton wood stove is ready for cold weather. Based on forecast, first burn will be sometime in November.
50. It's not often we are this warm for our low temp. Yesterday was cool all day so this surprised me.
60 or so out. Aspen burning. Finished emptying the tote and brought the rest inside. Pulled a tote of half punky oak and got the cover on before the rain. Probably will dip into that Sunday if I had to guess.
Catching up! Tuesday was 40's in the morning and 75 in the afternoon. Wednesday morning was 30 and 49 in the afternoon. This morning it's 45 heading for 70. Burning chunks of whatever. I load my firewood like football teams. Next guy up.
This surely has been a warm and dry month. I'm not sure I've ever seen it this warm in the last week of October.
(Site if acting up again) I tried to edit my above post to add that almost an inch of rain fell last evening.....along with some hail.
Temp did not fall as predicted. 42. Supposed to be in 50's today. Still warm but I do not expect it to last much longer. Will just wait and see.
Touched 75 yesterday and 73 now. Calling for tomorrow's high to be 60. Hopefully cooler temp will get the deer moving. Been very slow with the warm temps and full moon. Tomorrow we'll have a fire for sure.
I think the high was 62 with some on and off drizzle (0.08"). No plans for the first fire in the near future and I'm okay with that.
