Name brand was over $20 a gallon! I think I saw Husqvarna at $27.

Used my first gallon of the Poulan Pro bar oil that Menards had on sale for $7 a gallon a year or so ago. Super tacky and dyed purple so you can see it super easy that your oiling. I’ll definitely be on the look out for when it is on sale again!!!

Hey....Menards....a Forever stamp costs $.82, making your 'rebate' good for exactly $0.33 per gallon.

And, after you send for and get the "check" by mail, you can only use it on in-store purchases. Menard's pricing is just a fraction short of being false advertising, in my opinion. But I do like the Poulan bar oil, although it no longer seems to be available locally.

I added a quart of 10-30 to a half full jug to buy me some time to find more, but tomorrow Ive gotta open my last jug, I bought 6 last year at TSC, thought I would be good for a while, but we had a couple good wind storms that blewdown more trees than Ive ever seen. I bet ive cut 40 cord so far and theres at least that much left. I would like to have it cleaned up this fall before snow falls.

$10.50 isn’t $6 or $7, but it sure ain’t $24… The performance for long bars to me is worth the regular cost…

I'm picturing an old time moonshine runner filled with bar and chain oil crossing state lines running at 110 mph...

Everybody seems to be in panic mode. Of the two TSC's I go to, both are sold out of B&C oil and will be until next weekend :hair:I'm tempted to just order 5 gallons now and pick it up when it comes in. I've got to see how much I actually have left first. It's been a while since I've looked and I have jugs stashed all over the place.

I've chased some of those 2.5 gal. sales at three of the Rural Kings that are in my occasional travel pattern, over the last couple of years. They never have any in stock, even when the computer says they do. It seems these screaming deals are advertised all across their site when they're only closing them out in one or two stores nationwide. Out of all the order-online-pickup-in-person stores I deal with, Rural King has the absolute worst inventory control I've ever experienced. I still shop there but if it's something I really need, I order online and let them lay hands on it before I make the 45-minute trip to the closest one.

The last time I was in the Wytheville store there was pallets of bar oil. I’ve never seen so much bar oil in one place. I can see where a 2.91 sale would clear them out though. Might be time for a popcorn road trip.

This is what I can get on sale for $6 right now. Might grab more today but need to check the stockpile first.

I've never actually seen the 2.5 gallon jugs in any of the stores. The fellow in the Wytheville store did tell me one time, "It's gone as soon as we get it in", so it must at least exist. I think it was about $12/jug that time - still a good deal. The Radford and Martinsville stores just look at me like I have three eyes when I ask them about it.

I'm in good shape on oil, but would still buy more at just over $1 a gallon. ;)

I bought one a few weeks ago and it’s on the shelf until I get a few dish soap or laundry soap bottles to split it into. Was all excited and then realized I have to dish it out!
