We hit 70 yesterday but might not make it to 60 today. It has been a warm October for us with promises for more to come.

My in-laws told me it's safer to burn the oak I cut and split a few months ago compared to the pine I cut and split from 3 years ago. I felt bad laughing, but I laughed.

I'll have a fire tonight while I watch the World Series as the temps won't climb above 53 today. Mainly box elder and small pieces of oak.

    Go Brewers!

I got home from work tonight and it was 41/61 so I lit the fire. Burning some Ash. Now it's about 68 in the living room by the fire and 65 in hallway by the bathroom. (about 24 feet away) Burning wood, not natural gas. I guess I need to use my phone to make a screen shot so I can post a photo and it's on the charger.

I’ve had the same experience so I just nod and say oh okay. Then I burn what I wanted anyways.

Have you ever noticed that most folks who believe that stuff about burning pine? I don't know about your inlaws but no doubt their advice wasn't taken seriously.

Filled the ash bucket. That aspen is ashy and whatever special dust is in the ash is heavy. I just shoveled it out a week or so ago as well!
