30 out and 65 in. Ran the furnace for a few minutes to get the house back up to 70. No fire in the stove yet. Weather guessers are saying something about temps getting back to 70 by next weekend.

53 last night and 65 today. Heat pump at 70 and all the widows open. Had all the carpets cleaned yesterday and now doing a dry out. Last night had the furnace off but widows open. Also, down stairs door to garage and shop open and shop roof fan on to suck all the damp heavy air out. Later today when it is warmer I will dispense with the heat pump. Actually got a lot of drying done overnight! ( no fire because of the possibility of smoke in the open windows)

Supposed to have a low of 39 tonight so I started a HVBW fire. Burning money.
Started with a piece of fat wood and HVBW strips. The draft was good so I piled on :fire:
Put a mixed rick of HVBW, Persimmon, Mulberry and WO in the basement this morning. Start stop season begins.

The wind never died down overnight. Feels like 34

Yesterday morning, we had white rooves from the frost. When I got outside (for dog poop patrol) I noticed there was also a very light frost in the grass.

Got down to 33F overnight. Had my first fire of the season yesterday afternoon. Some combination of mystery wood and 2 compressed wood bricks at a time. Only 2 charges in the stove got the house into the mid/upper 70s.

43, shoveled the ash out and started a fire for our aunt. Aspen, one chunk of oak, one of those compressed sawdust logs.
