    FHC Story time

Now most of you know I was a landlord for years. I always used Moen faucets and kept them all the same so I had 2 spares and always knew what I needed..
so I have a dripping tub faucet; called Moen they sent replacement.. Not the same size called let them know.. sent pictures the very nice customer care woman advised me that model was in use 60s to 1974 they no longer have anything for it:jaw:
I mean what plumbing cartridge lasts 50 years!!

My beautiful bride called me a stubborn frugal procrastinator :bug:… I thanked her

    IMG_1511.jpeg

Ya like my pumpkin orange tub?? IMG_1510.jpeg
    Definitely not the same:headbang:

I know they are not in style BUT IF IT AINT BROKE
I only fix stuff that breaks.. that list is long enough

so in meanwhile switched so leak is on cold side as I am on well that’s cheaper than hot water

Moen did send me 70% off fixtures coupon

    It’s a Monday

so a simple cartridge replacement will turn into a remodel :wacky:

I've been struggling with a new wireless mouse since it arrived (my very old one left clicker gave out lol). Last night it finally just died, wasn't the steel file cabinet surface I'm using as a desk   Uh, yes, optical LOL. Duh! It had old batteries when I ordered it :picard: Works well now with fresh batteries.

    100%

And it is downright groovy my man! (ok, you can use pumpkin in the fall). A macrame owl would look awesome on wall, sincerely, not joking.

Only thinking this year. This is the first year for me not hunting since...I don't remember not hunting since several years before I got married and that was in 1962.

In reference to the orange colored bathtub.....

I still buy license for deer and neck still swells up this time of the year, but it has been awhile since I actually hunted for deer.

You are so right and since I can get some :ithappened: IMG_1513.jpeg IMG_1512.jpeg

    Here are more upward photos
Yes there is a plant room with a skylight in our master bathroom..

Seems odd until you understand that (not political) but when government makes a rule, it has unintended consequences.

Vermont has been very forward thinking about energy since 60s, we require firewood that is for low income/seniors to be lower than 15% MC which we conscientious burners adhere to.

one rule to get a Certificate of occupancy was to have moisture ventilation in bathrooms. When house was built only 100 amps with 20 breakers. To get around it there was an opening skylight in master bathroom and window on main floor bath
Now we all know, that NO PERSON opens that in winter.. But explains the design

Note do not worry about the water stains on the beams.. the 4x6 rough cuts are very solid someone  spilled water in the plant room. Where the Christmas and Easter cactus live..

The only way to remove the water stains is with dry ice. As they are rough cut and it would look dumb if I sanded a section

Envious of the natural light in bathroom! We too had similar/same code in our previous home in Colo, even had to install a vent in the laundry room as I had asked for a wash tub. (this was when we built a house onto our little cabin, new construction)

Supposed to leave for the beach Friday. Looks like there's a hurricane brewing and headed directly, and I mean DIRECTLY, for the house we are renting. Best case scenario is the power stays on and there's no damage and we just delay a day or two.

The best tool is a circular saw, the cheapest would probably be a jigsaw.

Hard to make a straight line with a jigsaw...hard to make a curved cut with a circular saw.
FYI, Lowes/HD/etc will cut plywood if you buy it there.
