Bardered for it and we both think that we got the good end of the deal. Can’t complain one bit. When I get it lined out it will put out the wood, I’ve seen a smaller one the next town over, the guy that has it just texted that he wants to come over in a few weeks and check it out and he knows how to adjust that extra stroke out of it. His is impressively scary fast, and a smaller 20ish Honda powered unit. It’s old school farm kinda safety features, if your heads not in the game stay away she’s not going to be easy on your mistakes.

Yep...sure is...it's actually on a metal pole though. Years ago, my dad found that stoplight somewhere, we took it apart and got it working. We hung it and plugged it in. He sure had fun with that over their driveway.
Dave, that's almost the Goat Town Square...lol...

And overfilled a 275gal tote. We took it to a guy that heats his auto shop occasionally. It was still a bit wet, we piled it in the sun, should be good when he needs it. 20261002_103625.jpg

I stopped in to "visit" a town supervisor a few years back and right there on the floor behind him was a streetlight that someone had surprised him with.

He kinda halfway offered it to me saying "I don't know what to do with it".

That was when I was still at the cottage and had no garage built there yet. Otherwise, I would have taken him up on the offer!

It's secretly a blessing because my available stock is not at the level it should be. Plan to bolster this season.

Interesting reading about firewood sales from different parts of the country. I haven't kept up on it much as 1) I don't sell firewood and 2) I don't have to buy firewood. Talking with my logger neighbor yesterday morning came as a bit of a surprise when he said he was getting calls from all over the state from firewood processors scrambling to find timber. He said one seller sold around 150 cords just in the last week or so. There's at least one outfit kiln-drying their firewood and trucking the splits it to Mass, where a TT-load of logs (not sure of how much on the trailer) is selling for $5,000. Biggest reason is the cost of fuel/heating oil, so people are looking for alternatives. I remember this happening several years ago when we had snow on the ground for ten months up here; people started to have their firewood being stolen (along with snowblowers). Almost makes me not so upset about the caterpillars killing so many of my oaks since now I have plenty of firewood for several years to come right from my own property. It also makes me once again shake my head at the lack of preparation from so many people who wait until it's cold to try and buy firewood.

Too many people live only in the moment. Little thought on short or long time preparations.

I was hoping to get our HHO tank refilled, but prices are ridiculous. We have 3/8 of the tank full. Probably enough for at least two more heating seasons.
