    Problem solved!

Doing laundry has been hit and miss this summer while residing in RV. Since back in the house the washer was not working well, and left an icky smell on fabrics after dryer sheet scent wore off. An old infant sock that dear daughter likes to use as a hand puppet was in the rubber door gasket in the drain holes. Nasty with dog hair backed up behind ito_O. I usually check the drain frequently but I hardly used the machine this summer so I "assumed" it was still clean. Wiped gasket clean, threw out nasty tiny sock and ran self clean. Much Better!

Most people use normal soap in a front load.

I did the bearing replacement on our Maaytag Neptune 5 years ago. The machine was 10 years old at the time. Was hopeing for another year out of it but were up to five now. Best 100$ spent.
