I wish, it’s the stump cut from the white oak. Some big sycamore came with the white oak deal. I’ve never attempted to split sycamore so hopefully it’s not as bad as advertised. If it is it will go into the former swimming hole.

 

I got a few loads of it some years back...I didn't think it was bad.

 

Let us know and post pics of attempted splits. I avoid the stuff worse than elm. Ill take it smaller if I'm really desperate.

 

Sold some wood and retrieved some wood from a regular. There’s more and I tried to cherry pick the rounds closer to 18”, but he kept pulling longer pieces out.

 

Delivered a small load of lumber scraps this afternoon.

Free is Free . PITA tweaking longs. Been there done that! Do you use shorties for yourself or sell them?

 

I use them as tarp weights and have a pile near the splitter.
