I was more 'grasshopper' than 'ant' this year. I'm about to pay for it this winter and next. Had a very warm and rainy summer, but this was the first day where I noticed the temps dip. Big storm brewing outdoors but still holding just above 70 off the sunlight today. First burn can't be too far away.
48f going down to 40 tonight so I got some cherry scraps and mini wood going. Not going to lie I forgot how good this dry heat feels.
43 After a day or maybe two more in the low 70's on Mon/Tue, the highs will be in the low 60's and upper 50's.
It was 44 when I woke up, back to close to 90 toward the end of the week. Letting the boiler run about every other day to make DHW.
Now Dennis; name of thread is Colder here… what ya burning? We who have met you Know beyond a doubt.. that you do not tolerate those temperatures in your home!
Got to 72 yesterday, got home from work in the late evening, when it was 60 outside and the wife had the a/c on. Saying it was "stuffy" in the house...
No burning temps since last week. Later this week there is a dip below freezing expected. Been trying to get a hold of my firewood guy for the last two weeks. He told me last fall, not to worry, plenty of seasoned wood... call me anytime. Tonight he tells me all I've got it unseasoned/ green. I always keep a plan b and c and plan b will be here on Monday. I have enough to get me through until January, so I'm not concerned. My usual guy has really good firewood and I'm surprised that he hasn't got seasoned wood in September.
