...I finally got started replacing the stacks that I used last season. After searching half the summer for HD reinforced plastic skids I finally found some last week at a price I couldn't pass up (3 bucks each!!). I bought 14 on the spot and headed home. Spent a long day cleaning up the bark, rotted skids and clutter and after a 1.5hr hiatus dealing with a very angry hornet nest I found in the stack (right where I need to clean up and restock my wood) I got the cleanup job done without a single bee sting!

So far I got 2 cord of red oak, white oak, locust, hard maple and black cherry processed, stacked and top-covered. I'll continue this week til I get the 6 cord area restocked completely. I have enough wood on some to fill it back up. Mostly locust and oak.

Used my trusty Shop-Vac trick (little dish soap and few gallons of water in the vacuum, suck up the little buggers)

    Found the lair.......

Had a few interesting (and extremely bad) weather systems come through during my woodstacking activities.

We got almost 2" of rain from this 45min storm.

The stacks are slowly coming back to normal.

Thanks buddy. Yes it was. That storm was one of many we had last week, we probably got somewhere around 8" of rain in a couple days last week alone!

Looks great Scott, I just bought ten HD plastic pallets hit them with 150 grit sand paper (palm sander) to rough them up then a can Bed liner spray so they don’t get slippery.. update next spring

That's a great idea! I can attest to the fact that they are very slippery when wet!

That field looks like a great place to stretch the legs on a rifle :)
You don’t see sights like that in Ct anymore. If you do it’s usually ringed with houses.

Bees nest is scary, shelf cloud even scarier. Surprised you didn't get stung with the removal.
Ive seen clouds like that a couple times. Last time was the one that hit my area May 2018 that spawned some small tornadoes. Decimated the conifiers in a couple local state parks.

I'm blessed to have that farm next door. Almost 500 acres, the owners are extended family.

I have that blessing Also; love living next to farm! paid extra for house when I learned farm was in
Land trust (sold development rights for lower taxes)
A few days of manure smell sure beats traffic neighbors and Karens
