Forum is slow and glitchy

That is my method and have had none of errors so far… you can teach this old dog new technique

 

Seriously, is there a reason things can't be fixed? I can muddle through and find what I need but the participation level $ucks!

 

Has anyone tried asking chadgpt to fix it?

 

This is the first time I’ve been able to get on in several days.
If it makes anyone feel better a forum I frequent has had problems loading and showing pictures for well over a month now. Apparently they had some kind of deal with Amazon for picture storage . . . Something or somebody seized up and it ain’t workin’.

 

The site has been spotty at best for another week long now.....


Maybe it's still suffering from some sort of post-partum stress?

 

Fatal error is back

 

For me it never left. Fatal error and coffee is the new normal.

Fatal error only shows up in the morning. Afternoon and evening are good.

 

We all enjoy the site and have appreciated your efforts.

I would do the same thing if I were in your shoes. First things first...job....family.....faith.....health.....(listed in no particular order)

The forum should come last in your priorities.

I've always had a difficult time collecting the membership dues anyway.

This is a PHP/MySQL server error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size exhausted in Zend/Db/Statement/Mysqli.php on line 304

The PHP process reached its memory limit while executing a MySQL query. The “tried to allocate 79 bytes” part means PHP had essentially no memory left—not that the query only needed 79 bytes.

Common fixes:

1. Check the SQL query for an unbounded result set, missing WHERE clause,inefficient joins, or accidental Cartesian product.
2. Paginate results with LIMIT and OFFSET rather than loading every row.
3. Fetch rows incrementally instead of storing the entire result in an array.
4. Add indexes to columns used in WHERE, JOIN, ORDER BY, and GROUP BY.
5. Increase PHP’s memory limit if the query is legitimately large:

6. Inspect the query and logs around Mysqli.php line 304. That file is usually wherethe database call fails; the underlying issue is often the query or the amount of datareturned.

If you’re only visiting the site, it’s a server-side problem—you can’t fix it from your browser.

 

Last few mornings I got the fatal error message. Had to use my bypass trick to get on and couldnt access all forums

New posts work fine. Combined with alerts/show all usually gets me where I want to go.

 

When you can't even get any part of the forum to show up from the fatal error, not sure how you can hit that button.

 

Interesting. Alerts and new posts have continued to work for me.
