Thanks Jeff. Im slowing down though. I unintentionally cut half loads there due to saw issues and it was easier on me to process after. Being a mile or so from storage was a big help. Black birch and beech are heavy wehn fresh cut! Any down your way?
Not any BB, but we have a good bit of beech, especially on our place. We have one we need to cut, blown down in Helene, enough roots are still in the ground, it's been putting our green leaves every year. I cleaned out around it last June, it is still green...
Split the last few beech rounds off the truck yesterday. Then split some red oak I cut with buzzsaw earlier this month that was in the way of an empty rack. I decided to stack the oak there as it gets good sunlight. Ill sell it 27-28 season since it was dead when cut. Some has loose bark. Still a face cord of oak to process. I then hit the TOH score I procured a couple weeks back. Couple miles from storage. He had limbed it and started bucking the smalls (mostly to the wrong length, but were longer so I edited them). It was a yard tree that forked into four about 15' up. Got it all bucked and mostly loaded. A few big trunk rounds left to grab. Had I not spent time torching the SLF I would've finished. Ill bet I killed over 200 of the dang things. Made my way back to the woodyard and split half the load. Maybe 1/3 will go toward bundle inventory. I may finish the rest today but showers hampering my efforts. Probably hit the bundle shed and stack since I tossed the last load inside.
Split the rest of the oak yesterday and stacked the bark on. Ill stack the barkless today. Caught up on splitting for the most part. Stacking is another story. Have a delivery going out soon so a rack will open up. Half cord of beech splits waiting patiently for an empty rack. Have a cut to hit probably today. Goldilocks sugar maple from a location I cut from back in Arpil. I just hate wooding when everything is wet from a fresh rain.

Nice to know I'm not the only one annoyed by the fact I cant post pics. Prepare for my next "tall" tale in the following post. I did remember to snap a couple loaded truck pics before I left the cut. Too bad they're on the camera and not the phone.
Hit an "old" score from April today. There was five sugar maple spars left standing and they cut them down last month and staged in front for me. 8-12" diameter and telephone pole straight. My kinda sugar maple. Managed to get it all on the truck loose thrown as im getting lazy in my old age! Off to the wood yard and split half the load. Most were bundle quality splits. Pic from early May from the same yard! Caught up on scores other than one where i've been cutting cottonwood and elm which I haven't hit since July. Wont be back there til mid month.
Chain saw job taking down some small TOH Friday/Saturday. Anything over 4" saved. Most went to bundle inventory. Yielded a couple heaping wheelbarrow fulls. A little stacking this afternoon. Mound of beech and oak heartwood splits moved. Beech topped off a half cord of such. Oak filling up another rack. Have more oak buried under some bundle splits that will be added. It'll come close to finishing the half cord.
Thanks. Away for a few days so I wanted to feel like I got something done. Hate to have wood piled up unstacked plus always need room for incoming inventory. It was nice as the racks were next to the pile and made a little easier! I have to wheelbarrow splits to racks for a better portion of the stacks in the yard.
Spent some time in the woodyard Saturday. Bucked the apple and red oak limbwood from recent scores. Battery saw had the honors. Split the apple. Stacked the rest of some red oak heartwood. Need a couple more wheelbarrows of such to finish a half cord stack. Moved some TOH and sugar maple splits next door and stacked in the bundle shed after making another pallet. Im elevating the stack off the shed floor for better airflow. Today's itinerary involves spltiing the rest of the sugar maple rounds from a recent cut, moving more bundle wood (including the apple) next door and stacking, and assembling some bundles as i have a couple orders to deliver this week. Hoping yesterdays heavy rain didnt oversaturate the yard as i need to drive over it. After four days on vacation last week my back asked for another week after 15 minutes of working!

Got the rest of the rounds in the woodyard split yesterday. Stacked the rest of the oak limb as the rounds were in the way. Need maybe a wheelbarrow full of oak to top off a half cord. Moved bundle splits next door and stacked. Second row finished in the middle bay of the shed. Now 1/3 filled. Have to assemble another pallet as there's more splits to stack there. Have some smoker wood to move to free up another rack as they are filling up. Hopefully I can cut another load by weeks end...woohoo!!! Got a call from a guy I just sold a quarter cord of firepit wood to last month. He wants another load by months end. Luckily i have it. We talked for a bit and it looks like he'll be a regular. It was mostly cottonwood with some softwood mill scraps in the mix. I only have one customer for pit wood who gets a half cord every year give or take. I've only sold it on FBM as I don't scrounge pit wood on purpose. If I have room I'll put it aside little by little. Another option I now have to figure out where to store! Always a work in progress!
