Who is ready for cooler weather

This summer has been rainy, humid and hot. You sweat just standing in this weather in my region. I’m ready for fall weather. Got a squirrel dog to train and a wood stove to feed.

 

I’m almost ready here but in no rush. Lots of what I’d call perfect summer weather coming up. Not too hot, not too humid. But in a few weeks once the cooler nights do start creeping in, I’ll be enjoying it.

The first part of the summer we were in a drought, with unusually high temperatures but lower humidities. It finally started raining a few weeks ago, with more moderate temperatures, but the humidity has been asolutely horrible. Yuck! This summer can't end fast enough. I hate not being able to work outside without my eyeglasses filling full of sweat, and all my clothes soaked through before 9 AM.

 

Yeah, im ready to ditch the humidity and heat. Always looking forward to late September and October.

 

Was in the UP last week. It was great. Highs in the 70s lows in the 50s. Cold front the last few days at home provided nice sleeping weather.

 

I'm not. I'm behind on everything. Much prefer a dry dusty summer (sorry farmers) to this crap.

 

Bring on the cool stuff!!

 

Never wanted summer in the first place!

 

I've been seeing a little color on certain trees here and there and it's starting to get me almost antsy, a lot like early April around here when the grass starts to green up; but in reverse. The wild goldenrods and asters are blooming everywhere which is a sign that it won't be long now. Roadside staghorn sumacs that are stressed from the heat are beginning to turn red, as are some of the red maples, especially in the low lying areas. The leaves on the black walnut in my backyard are looking ragged and started turning yellow, as they predictably do late in summer. I saw a black gum today that started turning red, and a few stressed birches that are getting yellow. With all the rain we've had this summer I'm hoping we get some decent foliage to look at in the coming months. I'm a bit closer to being ready but still in no rush. Everything it its own time.

 

Trees are slowly showing changes here also. Only slight but every now and then you'll see a bright red limb of a maple all fired up and ready to drop leaves.

 

Yup, seeing some color starting here n there...bring it!

 

Time and the seasons keep slipping into the future!

 

Seen on our local news were a local apple orchard said there apple harvest was about three weeks early than usual. I’m like the rest of you guys seeing some slight color in the tree line here.

 

Our forecast highest temperature for the next 2 weeks is 79.

 

Mine is 74°
