An unexpected scrounge this evening. I came across these precut dead ash rounds stacked at the curb for the taking and couldn’t pass them up. They’re the perfect size to quarter or third before stacking. I’ve got the perfect spot for them, to top off a stack of cherry that I’ll get into this fall.

I managed to get the black oak stacked in the shed this afternoon. I topped it off with some 1 year old red oak scraps but it was pretty close to a 1/3 cord row before doing so. In the back spanning between the rows is some year and a half black locust that needed a new home. I’ll leave the space open to park my garden tractor.

This will be the parting shot for this old thread, now that it’s about a year old. I can’t turn down mulberry, especially when it’s curbside 2 blocks from my house. It’ll take some trimming before I can split it, but I’ll take whatever mulberry comes my way.

I was looking at your pic of the SLF and noticed the mulberry in back of your truck. Leave it to me to look at the wood and not the bug! :loco:
