Bump. 16 years and my EcoSmart quit today. Sucks, but 15-16 years is pretty darn good for a $500 tankless water heater....IMO. I think I'll get a heat pump water heater and try it. I think if I put it next to the woodstove it should be pretty efficient.
I'll start a new thread, but HD has them at $699 right now. $1000 off! Ima set it up near the woodstove since it sucks heat out of the room. And possibly put a duct up to the living room to make use of the cold air during summer.
That's a good deal...Menards had one like ours for about the same money recently...it was tempting to buy a backup, but limited storage space already, and warranty ticking away while sitting in the box. It definitely cut WAY down on the need to use the standalone dehumidifier in the basement. I've also thought of ducting the cool air upstairs in the summer, but have never done it.
What model you choosing as right now our state efficiency program is giving $600 off I was looking at GE eco smart But open to your input please
What store? That sku is still showing $1699 here...I recall from a few years back HD always had wildly varying prices on wood stoves in the spring...plug the right store number in and shazam!
