My Air Force neighbor got assigned for 2 years in California. He rented his house out through a property management company (his future ex wife insisted). He had this old dead oak tree come down recently. The property management company sent him a price of $900 to cut up and remove the tree. It was in his back yard so I used a wheelbarrow and it still only took me 40 minutes total to cut and load in my truck. Wood is very rotted and surprisingly light so I will just burn it in my wood boiler but holy moly, what a rip off!! I told him to buy me dinner and a few beers next time he’s in town and we’re even.

Jimminie christmas. I’d have to ask em how they justify $900.

That was a neighborly thing for you to do. I don't know how some folks sleep at night. On their well padded checkbooks, apparently.

Can we get a copy of this invoice? For future reference for the roadside hoarders here? To show the owners what they can save by giving the wood away?

It's crazy what some people/entity's can get away with. I'm sure the property management company would've gotten some of the $900. Typical middle man.

    Here's another Rip-off.
Don't know if any members have a saw from them, but might better beware.
I saw their tent at the Paul Bunyan Show last year, with some big names promoting them...that doesn't mean they're better...https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Hm7nBwnsr/

When I click the link, it just takes me to a Facebook "Chainsaw Repair" group front page with a list of rules, etc. for the group. I guess you have to join to see individual posts?

Some of those guys need 3K a day to stay in business. Insurance alone here in Ma sucks, I can't imagine it's any better in NJ.

Modded saws are great, i have a Stihl 462. It was built by an Oregon guy who does great work and is very humble.( he does not have a U tube channel LOL). I do notice a ported saw is alot more sensitive to a dull chain or low quality fuel. I didnt know BBR was mixed up with Ripsaw.
