I'm still coping. I see him all over the place on the property. Missing his fantastick dirtbike wrenching skills/knowledge this past week and having to go it alone. He'd tell me to stop being a p***y and get after it. :) He was a great motivator for me, in the best ways. Concerned for his family as of late. His mother is having trouble coming to terms. His Widow was diagnosed with breast cancer while he was in hospital dying. She & the kids know they can lean on me anytime, anyway that can help. That's how good a friend he was and what his friendship offered me.

I try to do right by him in my work now, even though he's not around to keep me honest.

I have the same rifle. Do you mind if I ask where you got the replacement trigger, please?

Here you go Sir. A little spendy honestly but if it makes me like the rifle again, well worth it. Installation was pretty straightforward minus instruction on how to set the sear screw (legal issues likely) but I did figure it out on my own. Half hour or so job if you're not in a hurry. I will report back on it after some use. I think I can go down some yet but will test as is.

Thank you very much. I don’t think there are any inexpensive gun accessories left any more. I appreciate your reply!

Prayers for you and his family, that's tough. I'm glad they can lean on you for help. And remember, your FHC family is here for you as well. If you want to talk, we have an ear to listen.

I let the weather win this weekend. Did get a couple of loads of rocks hauled Saturday. Did shed cleanup and disposed of some used oil waiting for rain to stop yesterday. Only got a little weedeating done after.

The dirtbike I been trying to revive (not mine) should be good to go after I oil this filter. Gonna try to ride this weekend if we get any weather.

Got the bike out yesterday for a little while. Easy stuff. Trying to get my sea legs back.

Just an hour or so. I was with a buddy who was lumbering along in his SXS. Should have scouted first...kept running into downed trees on trails which is not really an issue for a dirtbike but they are for a SXS. Kept it upright the whole time. Did some wheelies. New rear tire is nice. I'm gonna climb back on it more in the coming weeks. May even take a day from work to go ride local APV area when everyone else is at work. :)

Anyone seen an old crusty backhoe around here anywhere?

Oh, there it is. Guess what I'm doing tomorrow?? I hope this is not some sort of omen since I been trying to make it seaworthy again.

Got the old Deere unburied. Raining on and off while working. Who else loves handling wet brush? Between my sweat and the rain my clothes were wringable afterwards. Yuck. No major damage. So far looks like the roof got bent just a little.

Big bitternut was the causation. Almost the whole thing is under tension with downhill pressure. Will work on after (if) I ever get other stuff caught up from weather.

Speaking of which, still not gotten anything meaningful done with the log jam. The storms keep pushing it further down.

Storms yesterday. Didn't even bother trying to do any outside work. Power went down from 2pm till 8 last night.

Looks like taking care of your trails is turning into a full time job. At least your getting some wood out of it.

I have plenty of fodder at the moment. Good news is that my quick buggy survey didn't show a lot of storm damage up on one hill at least. Saw a crummy aspen down, but it's been on it's way for a while using another tree as a steady past couple years. Sugar maple I think down in the creek. Goldilocks size. Got a couple of red oaks waiting for me too. Gonna have to get after some red maple straight away once 'season' comes in for the roadside stand. Weedeating and mowing behind at moment and nothing much else will happen until I get that stuff up. Have 6-8 hours of bush hogging nagging me at the north property...I ain't even had a good chance to get the ROW to that property in good shape yet. Imagine there is some drainage damage to fix.
