Id have to say you're the FHC king of pin oak Greg as it seems you score a lot of it. Yes the weather has been much more favorable for making firewood in the Summer. Im loving it. Hoard on and cut safe!
Not sure why, but many places around here plant these things in between sidewalk and road, and while probably a great idea for 30+ years, it’s a horrible idea after that. Then the townships that allowed the species make the homeowners remove them and repair the side walk at their expense.
That is amazing Greg. I've always noticed how you get some good loads of the pin oak. We have quite a bit here but it sounds like you have even more than we do.
Beneficial to wood hoarders, not so much to the homeowners. Pin oak is rather common as a commercial planting around here. Coincidentally there's several wild ones next to my driveway and woodyard.
