This is true. But I also wonder how much of the issue is also time and maybe even expertise.

So many sites have ads to help defray at least some of the cost. And then they also will offer membership of some sort to shut the ads off and/or have other perks. This must also be more of a time suck administering it all.

This is a huge issue, one that we will discuss and work on figuring out. We are literally "outgrowing our britches".....

On another note, the site seems blazing fast here for me today, how does it seem for yinz?

Another forum I used to frequent had a similar issue with pics taking up space and decided to just dump stored pics when they aged to 5 years or so . It meant any old threads visited had a bunch of sad broken file image instead of a stored pic but old threads really didn't float to the top very often. It wasn't a firewood forum. Maybe not a welcome idea on a hoarder forum but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

    Site seems very responsive today.

    Thanks for the update!

I know enough about HTML and whatnot to be dangerous. Is there a way the software could automatically resize the pics? I know there are some other forums that do that.

May I ask just how large our britches are? How much space does this forum take up on the hard drives?
One million photos at 8mg equals 8tb.

Are we taking bets on when/if it'll ever get fixed?

Its my understanding the swag shop was there to help offset the cost of keeping the forum up and running. Once I had a little better understanding of what it takes to run something like the FHC (all free) the swag shop had closed. Id be glad (as I'm sure many other FHCers) to buy some swag to support our great forum.
