Blistering Heat Dome To Hit US over next week

Of course you did. Drove across country to meet the heat in Ohio, and now in LV. Naturally I will be back to NH when the heat starts building abain there. Hopefully my flight back won't be affected by the severe weather expected Tuesday night

The smoky air is keeping temps down in the mid 80's

I'm assuming yours displays dew point and then switches to heat index around the 80° temp area? That's what mine does.

Right now you have a dew point of 80.3°! Crazy!

 

We had crystal clear skies without smoke yesterday. Also had a colder front move thru with very low Rh (my weather station was reporting 32%) so low 80s outside felt cooler than my house at 76* and 60%Rh. Even now, 2:50am, the Rh outside is 63% at 64*. Since I opened windows last night, and have window fans going this morning, house is 71* at 58% rh.

I think today is the worst day yet this year for smoke here.

 

That was us yesterday before it rained. Visibility was down to just over a 1/4 mile here. Can see at least 12 miles now.

Looks like Gulf Coast states might see some rain and slightly lower temps. Forecast to become a tropical storm soon.
