Thanks brenndatomu. Take screenshot of photo works. Reduced from 6.5mb to 850 kbs or so. Nice pile of logs 3-4 miles from my house. 80% Black Locust. Owned by the town. Just talked to the tree warden whom I promised I could make disappear lessening his work load, saving his budget. Never that easy. He feels compelled they must be offered to everyone in town so eventually he will move them to the wood dump where everyone has a chance to scrounge. Ya know I can't even argue with that. Fairs fair. Wait till the old lady hears the old habit of cruising the wood dump before date night begins is back in play When they show up I'm going into overdrive. Heard I'm not the only one watching for them.
Bout the sweetest BL I've ever seen. If I lived closer I'd be watching! Id do like ThomH123 does and schmooze the wood dump guys with coffee. Either that or date night is a camp out at the wood yard gate! How soon you think it will be moved?
I asked, he wasn’t sure. Said they only get use of the truck once a month and never sure when. Probably not too long tho. The fireman want to build an outdoor training are on the spot. That should give it a little extra priority over just cleaning up a mess. There’s no guys at this dump. Just drive in and do as you please. I know,,,,,,that can’t be in Ct LOL. Still a touch of old school in the area I guess.Towns providing free firewood is almost unheard of. Free and unsupervised? I keep waiting to wake up
Mine either. This town borders on my property line,,,,,they don’t need to know that tho Our transfer station is filled with big stumps and little branches. Everything else disappears before it gets there. Some town worker(s) have a nice side business going somewhere.
Funny you ask. I had just replied to your message, was reading this and text came up on the screen. “No wood at the firehouse” One of my spies came through LOL. Just went to the wood dump. A retired English teacher bucking and loading already. He’s the other guy that was interested. Told him I won’t take it all. Date night May need to be postponed until further notice
Went back after lunch with the trailer. Only thing I forgot was to put air in the trailer tires. Woops English teacher was back. He's feeling the pressure LOL. Nice guy tho, were in simpatico. He likes the small stuff I like the big stuff. A fleet mechanic was down there too working on some tree trucks they store there when working in the area. Offered to load logs with his crane. I explained this is what I do for fun. Also told him I wouldn't be getting too much as I forgot to air up the tires. He offered to air up my tires, I accepted. He was on the last tire and he told me it's leaking. Air was kicking up dust under the tire. Pulled forward a bit and he found a nail. Plugged the tire for me too. Dang there's some nice people in that wood dump
Disregard the & in my prior post. Thats a sweet load and yes there are some good folks still out there. IIRC you can go there at your convenience. Best be getting back there soon. Bring the 550 for Ms. jo191145 (sorry buddy, I forgot her name) to use.
It's a tough weekend. Family breakfast in the morning and an extended family GTG for lunch. I'm considering hitting the dump around 4am to grab another load. Historically speaking no one goes in that wood dump in the summer. That has changed as of late. English teacher Mike told me someone else has been hitting it hard before he even got there. I want more because because because BLACK LOCUST I won't be a glutton but get it quick and get out seems to be the play. Her names Kris and don't worry, I forget her name and mine some days. Ran into an old friend the other day, he asked me how I'm doing. Told him Hey we're all aging I'm just faster at it than most If going downhill was a competition, ,,,,,,, ,trophies baby trophies.
Sky is beggining to brighten at 4. All this sunlight stuff is highly overrated,,,,,,and overheated LOL
