I'd give it a couple days...he may be telling the truth.
That wasn't a bad deal at all, but I see even better than that occasionally, but you have to be quick on the trigger to get 'em!

I give folks the benefit of the doubt. He had a foreign name and I viewed his profile (I kinda do a background check of sellers and buyers to get an idea of their "honesty")

For $700 and only used twice I thought it was a steal, but that's just me. I don't often look for hydro's on FBM.
Gotta be double that new, no?

Seems like todays society wants instant gratification. I've had sellers wanting me to come right away. As a seller I try to be flexible with buyers, but am becoming tougher, even being rude.

Yeah, if it was really only used twice...of course depending on how it was stored, that brings up other possible issues too, since it was an older model (it had the old style log catchers on it, like mine did, but it was a lil newer than mine, due to the color change)
Yeah, probably close to double that new, depending on the vendor...$1499 for the 11 second 27 ton model at HD, $50 less at TSC, but it's the 16 second 27 ton though too...

FWIW my DHT 28 with Kohler engine came with break in oil. Book said to remove after 5 hours. Only time I'd ever seen that. Sometimes it pays to read the book :)
It was a milky whitish color.

An electric start on the new log splitter. I'm officially spoiled now.

I had it for a little while. Unit I bought came with a Chinese engine and the cutest little 'battery' you ever saw. My issue was that the unit was unstartable by recoil at near freezing temps. (battery didn't make it a year) So I put a used Honda 6hp in it's place.

And I see that it uses a standard automotive battery as well.

Great! My body is at the point where I really appreciate electric start. Sadly I don't have it on splitter but fortunately that engine starts quick.
