I posted earlier about my 32” bar not cutting straight, I tried everything and nothing corrected it. I took it to Ron’s Saw Shop in Watertown Sd. A week ago and they put it in their bar vice and straightened it and dressed the rails. Took them about 5-10 minutes and $25 bucks. I just had a chance to put it in some wood today. I noodled some narley honey locust logs and it cut straight as straight! Anyway Ron’s is a great shop, great inventory of Stihl equipment, and great shop to bs about saws. It’s too bad the town I live in (250,000 population) doesn’t have a decent saw shop. If any body is in the north east part of SD stop by Ron’s, they are the best! I forgot to mention they also have some nice used saws for fair prices (especially since they have been through the shop and they are running good) I was tempted by a nice looking 362 but I have absolutely no need for it. C A D was in full affect, but I fought it off for now!
To a lot of us out east, we wonder how much a man on the prairie needs a chainsaw to trim sedge grass All jokes aside, I for one am jealous of the honey locust and hedge scores you guys out there bring home.
My grandfather’s farm is north of Sisseton and I’ve been to Watertown several times. There were trees in the shelter belt, but that was it. The rest was a sea of pasture, grains and corn. I’m sure he had a saw somewhere, but I never saw him use one. Just saying it doesn’t surprise me you would have to drive a ways to find a saw shop in SD.
Thats great. For $25 its well worth it IMO especially with a long bar. Its always a pleasure doing business with a place that is very good at what they do and sell. Funny as when I'm out of town in an area I seldom frequent and spot a Stihl dealer ill stop by and browse.
I don’t think there are many dedicated saw shops around. The closest one that we had in town sold out to place that is basically a tractor implement with a small selection of Stihl saws. We also have Ace and Runnings that sell Stihl, but I won’t have them survive my saws.
You paid attention in trig? Man, I would have lost sooo much money on that bet... I don't even recall taking it...
Some stuff does stick to my brain. I recall having the special calculator for it. I also recall one of the teachers owned a Yugo! Students would tease the chit out of him. Thinking they had just come out in the states.
