Millions of Americans could face another round of punishing summer heat next week as a sprawling heat dome builds across the country, raising the risk of hazardous conditions and potential temperature records in several major cities.

AccuWeather reports that next week, heat will develop northward over the western U.S. through the weekend, moving into the north-central U.S. early next week, then expanding further east. It warned the heat dome will bring “dangerous heat” and “oppressive humidity.”

The heat dome is forecast to deliver widespread high temperatures between 95-105 degrees over parts of the northern Plains and Upper Midwest Sunday through Monday, according to the outlet. “The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create heat indices up to 105-110 degrees. Overnight temperatures will provide little relief as lows will drop to the mid to upper 70s to 80s,”

Oooh. Scary red. Seems like it was just last week I was sitting in high school in 90 degreee weather with two open windows and a box fan. My arms sticking to the desk and notebook was awesome. Spanish class was conditioned because it had no windows being in the inner part of the building.

Well, you will likely thin out those winter clothes some more…. . it will take you some time to acclimate and you’ll quickly begin to schedule any outdoors activities to mornings and evenings.

Yes, she's here, got heat exhaustion at the Carnival yesterday, crazy ride and a few sips of lemonade did her in. 80* here yesterday, Tstorm blew through in the afternoon and cooled it down to 67*

We've had great weather here in Massachusetts this weekend.
Had perfect backyard pool weather for a graduation party Saturday.
    Same right now:

I expected hot yesterday but it was a beautiful day with a high of 80 and low humidity and dewpoint. Today is forecast to start heating. Tomorrow 102. Will hide next to the air conditioner.
