Yeah well, I seem to remember you wouldn't take any gas money on that trip too, so...;)

Why not suggest to him you make two trips? Tell him $2K delivered, then he doesn't have to rent or do anything. That is pretty good coin provided you didn't have to split it.

Seems fair to me. 100 miles away. Pretty much a custom wood cutting job. I’d do it for that price

We got to texting back and forth about a week and a half ago or thereabouts. While doing so I got the request/order for next year for the ceremony. 3 cords, approximately 3”-8” diameter and cut to 24” lengths, in the rounds unsplit.
But at his house it looks like he might not be burning wood this year. He had a chimney fire last year and I guess that put him on the insurance company’s radar. He likes wood heat so he’s doing some research to see what he needs to do.

Not a bad gig for the ceremony wood. Enough smaller dead elm at that score yet? 24" length sure helps make cordage quicker.

I think there should be enough left for one more order. If not there is still a bunch of cedar logs racked up for easy pickings in the forest. At least there was last time I was in there. (Memorial Day weekend). I assume he would be good with a bunch of that in the mix.
