Sent for a high zoomie optic this morning. Found a seller on Ebay with an irresistable price. Was shopping some Athlon & Vortex closeouts but decided to try another Mueller. Gonna pull the 12x off of a Ruger and slap on 32x. My first venture into anything over 20x. Figure a 'budget' option is best to see if I even need this much. I'm not going uber long...maybe 200 yards with a 22lr. I didn't pay anything near $300 for it.
Score! Reached out to a belting vendor and begged them for some slitting scraps. I now have an abundance of plate hanging material. 3/8x2" conveyor belting. Chains do work but they do end up being a pain at some point.
I've been a Glocktard for about 27 years. A few years back I got the bug for Sig Sauer P2xx series pistols, I love them. ETA; gonna get a Sig P227 Elite or M11A1 9mm next. My P220 Elite 45 ACP with a few Glocks G26, G19 and G35.
I don't own any Glocks. Have fired a few before and they worked well. I think the 'issue' that many took with Glock enthusiasts over the years was due to the enthusiasts thinking it was the end all be all. Simply not true. Many great pistols over the years outside of Glock. I don't hate Glock. I find them a little snappy and grip angle is not greatest for me. When I was young I used to read a lot of good press about the Sig 226 line. Favorite of LEOs at the time. Never had the chance yet to fire one.
Got the Mueller mounted up second try. I don't keep stock of 30mm rings and first I bought wouldn't clear the bell. Had Amazon send me a set of the next higher and they *just made clearance. The sunshade is interference fit but has enough room for a folded piece of paper to slip under. Caps that came with scope won't go on. Got it lined up at 30 yards then spun around to the 180yd sihlouettes to see if I could make a hit with Kentucky windage. Very bottom of reticle was allowing hits. Burning off some old junk at my Boss's farm range. Trying to bring it back to it's former glory. Halfway or so there.
The weirdest part about the Sig Sauer P2xx series pistol's is, it took me almost thirty years to realize how much I like them! NYH1.
Last night we were sitting at the supper table. My 10 year old daughter turned to me and asked "Daddy, can we put a Geissele trigger in my bb gun?" Proud dad moment!
