Yesterday was literally a pain in the neck... We had 2 stump grinding jobs lined up...first on was 3 stumps... A huge clump of privet hedge that had been cut back several times After closer inspection, we saw several large pieces of rock in there. Used the Catawba grapple instead, raked up the brush and rocks, then started breaking roots...and ripping out chunks. Glad we took the grapple route, hidden in the middle of the clump was the concrete RW marker, that got pulled up...lol Got it leveled out... Next up was a big multi stem catalpa stump, it had some hollow centers, again wasn't sure what might be in there...grapple to the rescue... Just like pulling teeth...grab hold, wiggle with steady pressure and... Out comes a piece... Last stump was a tall hackberry... And down it goes... Miz Carol got busy on the rake Done with this job... Then we traveled back towards town to the site where the Pines, Pines Galore thread started... My photographer fell down on her job......but she did bring me several bottles of water... We did 10 pine and 2 Bradford pear stumps there...we ground them and Voyne used their tractor to fill in/level areas. He posted 2 pictures of the areas... When we got home, Miz Carol reminded me that our son had some needing some attention...again, she forgot to ... But she said we did 14 stumps there...my neck believes it too...
Nice work Jeff and Carol!! Not to sound mean, but if I owned the first house...those stumps would be last on my list of things to fix!!
Thank, brother. He's a coworker, stopped by the control room the other night and asked if we wanted to do it. They bought the house recently, as is, to fix up. The daybwe were there, his wife went to Dr and into labor that evening with their 2nd boy...lol...he also works a 12hr shift, but more days than I do, normally only 7 days off a month... Maybe things will get better for them, not the best neighborhood to raise kids, about 10AM, as we were loading up to go and talking to him, a very strong skunks smell came floating across the road...probably 100 yards away, a guy was having a good tote for breakfast on the front porch......
Understood I have been poor raising nephews and this house when I bought it needed everything With 2 40 years dumpsters over flowing when I saw it. But 25 years later it’s still not finished
