Very good chance of northern lights down to mid latitudes tonight. NOAA forecasting G3 storming on the arrival of some CMEs, two of which will are expected to combine and call what's called a cannibal CME. I myself would not be surprised to see us hit G4, NOAA has been underestimating solar storms pretty consistently for the past year or so. Eyes up tonight
So, they were just very early on their forecast, the CME are slower than they thought. Geomagnetic storming is kicking off now, good chance still of a show tonight.
Had some in southern NH about 1.5 hours ago (1am Eastern Time, Saturday). My phone isn't helpful in seeing this type of thing (or at least I've never figured out how to make it do so - even on night mode), but I could see the northern sky blushing red. Doesn't help that there are outdoor lights coming from neighbors and street lights that surround me, but it was still visible.
