My buddy cut this up a few weeks ago. Ash and something else, a softer hardwood. I'm guessing horse chestnut? It's all wood, it'll all burn. It's a full short bed, and that's all there was.
Keep it up and your stack grows so you can keep warm next winter so you don't have to pay the gas or oil man or even the electric charges. In other words, nice job.
This was a favor wood haul. It was in my buddy's GF's lawn, and he knew I'd take it. It was a short 10 miles each way trip after dinner. Plus, the wood shed doesn't get filled on it's own.
My kind of buddy there. Looks like he got the lengths right too. If it turns out to be horse chestnut it doesn't split very well and lower btu's but it has a place in the burners arsenal. EDIT: after studying the pics that looks like Norway maple to me. Just as good in my book and if mistaken it for ash. Barks are very similar.
There a couple of different trees in there. Once I split it, I'll know for sure. Yes, he's a good buddy. Known him for almost our entire lives, more of a brother to me than one of my actual brothers.
