Any members experience this? Myself and the Mrs did. We are about 40 miles from where it exploded Mystery solved: Meteor caused boom heard across Mass., society says
Both cool and scary at the same time. Would have been cool to actually see it. Just goes to show, we may think we are the masters of all we survey, the universe doesn't really care about what we think.
When I saw this online I wondered if you had heard it, but I couldn't get online to ask. Now I know, thank you.
Didn't hear it in Rochester. There was a gathering of about 50 of us outside under tents in the rain and freaking cold for a BBQ/wake/memorial for my sister in law who died in early February. Got a text from a cousin in Phoenix asking if we felt the earthquake. Had no idea what she was talking about.
I heard what sounded like a firework, then a couple of firecrackers immediately following that. I just assumed it was a neighbor lighting off some stuff so thought nothing of it at the time - except I was surprised there were only the very few. Also, I distinctly noticed that it was from the east, which is not normally the side fireworks are lit off from (neighbors to south or northwest are usual culprits).
It was on the local news and the weather channel. I heard some type of dull boom over the weekend, and thought it was thunder as it was raining lightly. The back door was open at the time.
