Ah, but it doesn't take you long to make more firewood with the tools you have and a good helpful family. The frost there does not surprise me. I still remember the ice we would find in water buckets if left outside. That was a long time ago but I still have pleasant memories from Alaska.
Temp in low 50's overnight and not predicted to raise much today. Then we have another heat wave heading our way.
Had 90+ mon-wed. Heavy rain wed and thursday evening. Loss power. Today its a miserable day of steady rain. Yard is a freaking bog. Temp around 50*. Might have a fire tonight. Have a few scraps and small cut offs lying in woodshed. I refuse to pull from this burn season stash.
Strangely enough, I considered lighting a fire today! We had our grandson overnight and woke to a 66 degree house. Ran the HHO once. Currenly 55 and damp after lots of rain. More of that on the way.
I have enough wood in the porch for 1 or 2 more fires. Might still get it burned up! No fire for a while though.
64 inside, decided to go ahead and light a small fire of oak. Used a giant candle as the fire starter. Never figured out why there was a 10 wick candle in a wood mold in the houseā¦
47 and fog. Now I wish I had brought some wood to the porch yesterday... But forecast 80 so I'll just tough it out.
40 and the ole OWB chugging along doing its thing. It 0205 and the sun is coming up, wont be long and the sun wont go down. I always miss the night sky and stars. 24 hour sun sure helps getting choirs done, busy season is upon us.
Yes I can imagine folks up there welcome the sun and a bit warmer. Yet the long nights can also be entertaining, especially when the northern lights give you a treat. Where we live that is rare but when we lived further north they could be fantastic. I also used to say I'd love to live up there to experience a whole year. I know I sure liked it the one time I was there. 60 this morning. Summer temps.
46/69 lumber cutoffs I picked up 5 garbage cans of lumber cutoffs Friday. I already have more to start next season with than I did to start this season.
45. We have been enjoying extremely low humidity and dewpoints but they say this week will be the last of this. Also we are extremely dry with no rain in sight. That is supposed to end by next week.
