Any recommendations on a long bar for an Echo Cs750EVL? I have 4 saws with 20” bars and thought I’d put a longer bar on this one for special occasions. Looks like 28” is fairly available from Oregon. The bar mount is D176.
I'd try the 28. I have one that see's plenty of use. A 24" wouldn't be a big enough jump since you already have 20's.
Some Echos have odd drive link count. I would see if there is a bar length that uses something common. Cool old saws. I have one that just sits in the basement. It came to me with a 24' roller nose bar.
Ended up with a 24” because that’s what they had at the hardware store. At least I know the new standard Echo bars fit so I can order a longer one. Or keep an eye out for a 1001VL and then get a big bar!
It’s heavy but I really enjoy it. Time to finish out the vintage Echo collection. I have a 302, 500, 610, and 750.
I have a couple not on your list. CS-315 and 452VL. I have two of the 315s. Both in really nice shape.
I had one and sold it. I wish I could have kept it but needed money for medical bills. Very cool old saws.
That bar mount is also available from Tsumura as well. I’m 5’9” and despise bending over to buck logs due to back issues. a 28” is my standard bucking bar length for me and on most of my larger saws they do not feel nose heavy and are fairly balanced.
We grabbed one off the shelf for large new Echos and it mounted right up with the oiler in the correct spot. I was surprised that the mount hasn’t changed. I’ll get a 28” or 32” bar at some point but the 24” got what I needed for now.
