Any help for Earth Stove with yellow medallion (I think it is a 300 but can not read the tag right now). I am new to the site and wood stoving as of about 6 hours ago. Why is there a rectangle exhaust on the back of this stove when stove pipe is round? Why does this just have rails on bottom of firebox and no base/legs. How do you run the combo damper control on the side and the small air damper lid rod that sticks out the top of the back. Did my snap buy for $100 prove I am intellectualllllly sttttuunted in the wood stove world and got took? Any help is appreciated!

PS. Contrary to rumor, when I cut my first tree I will not be taking down the only tree in North Dakota!

Welcome aboard!!! You've found the right place to ask questions and get answers. Pictures are really helpful in finding solutions. Here's a start with a short video from Rockford Chimney Supply.

It sounds like a fireplace insert.

I agree with fox, sounds like an insert.

Were you looking for an insert or a freestanding stove?

Hello greenstick welcome to the forum! You might have a rectangle if the stove is missing the flue outlet adapter. Please post a pic so we can better assess your issue..

Thanks for the welcoming. Already like how helpful this club is. I was looking for a free standing stove and bought this one blind by word of mouth. Will try to get pics up as soon as I can figure out my new phone or find a kid to do it for me.

I am by far no expert, I am learning about running our Blaze King Catalytic Converter wood stove in the home we bought. We made through a record cold winter last year but now it needs help...Tune up plus operator error instruction....It has a dial, and a slide handle that opens up the air draft before opening the door. I wonder if yours uses a cat too? And if its an insert or retrofit to fit almost into an existing chimney? PS, we also had another woodstove insert in the home we recently bought that stood alone on concrete blocks. Funny looking but kept us warm last cold winter. Look inside to see a honeycomb thing near the exhaust. If so its a catalytic stove. If not I wonder if you may have bought a stove that you can cook on which is cool!

I'm pretty good with Google searches but so far I'm coming up with nothing for advice. See if you can clean up the tag and figure out what the actual model number is (where it says "ICBO No.")

Tryd ta cleaner up but it is corroded beyond what can b seen in pic. No hunnycomb. Pic above tag pic you can see some of rope in door seal on front. Thinkin I may just need to pull out my duct tape hat and figure out how to hillbilly engineer an adapter. I can not get over the lack of info out there on earth stove. Guy it came from claimed it was an early 80s model.

The only info I am finding on the 300 series all comes from Russia.

How much did you pay for the stove?

Functionality aside, I think that is a really cool looking stove!

With controls on the back, definitely not an insert.

I think you can get an adaptor to go from square to round, not sure of the size though, I do remember someone having one of those a couple years back on another forum.
