    To me this suggests it's indeed not some issue with the server design, but external (bot etc.) action causing this, as the latter is likely more variable in time than the former.

    This is crazy. I've been trying off and on since 3:00am. The wait time is really ridiculous. I'm going to stop again and come back later to try again because the wait time the last 2 times were several minutes and then an error message the page can't load.
