I recently acquired at Stihl MS 251 that does not oil the bar. At all. So I did what any sane person would do; drilled out the oil pickup hole on the bar, removed the dud and added a stud, and cranked those nuts tight. Way better, not perfect, I don’t like the aftermarket clutch cover. Any tips or tricks? Any ideas of OEM clutch covers that have 2 bar stud holes and fit a 251? Runs great otherwise, picked it up as a backup/small job saw.

I have an MS250…not sure how similar they are. Mine is close to 17 years old. The MS250 doesn’t sling a lot of oil. I did the same with a few bars I have. That being said, it does do oiling because the tank certainly goes down as I cut.
