My f350 dump truck has been in desperate need of 3 fresh tires. The only thing holding me from getting to it was just the inconvenience of dropping off and picking up from the shop. I call a place pretty close to me that I’ve never used before. Told the guy I just need 10 ply. Don’t care about brand or even if they matched. He tells me to hold on so I wait a minute or two until he comes back to the phone and tells me they have 3 tires listed as used but are brand new as they were from an old shipment. I ask price and was floored when he responded. I asked him he misquoted and he said nope that’s the price….$70 per tire! I dropped the truck off an hour later and picked it up the next day. Total prices mounted and balanced was $234. Yep, as the title says, crazy tire prices. And yes, they are brand new. Brand is Summit for those interested. Asked for my brother if they had any more deals like this and he said not at the moment but they pop up every now and then.

Only good deals on tires where i live is from small independent shops. Any of the corporate places will hammer you.

I just recently discovered a little independent tire shop in town that sells "high tread" read: almost new, tires installed for $240/set of 4, or $50 each for singles...it's a great deal if they have something that'll work for you! If you are in a hurry, need something they don't have that day, gotta go around the corner and pay up at the chain tire shop...

Places around here think tires are made of gold. I got a quote yesterday for my son’s f600. $450 EACH!!! And they were budget imports!

I have a set of Yoko's that came off my last pickup with ~8k miles on them. $300 a piece nowdays and I can't seem to drum up much interest in them at $1000 mounted to nice alloys. :seasoned:

I was assuming you meant crazy expensive, like everything else is. I’d buy everything he had and get put on a list. Great deal!

My dump truck needed 4 new tires on the rear. I took 4 pretty new ones off an old truck I had and put the worn ones on the old truck before I traded the truck away. Dodged the bullet that time!
