We were recommended by a friend for a clean up job. They had a big water oak taken down and was going to clean it up themselves. He said it was too much for their small tractor...
We went Tuesday morning with my neighbor's L3901, MTL grapple and dump trailer.

Got a nice trailer load of wood and got paid to do it... 20260505_121825.jpg

Always nice when you can get paid to haul wood from somewhere that was already cut down.

NICE getting paid to do what we like with free wood included. Only drawback is they precut some, but looks like you'll be able to edit them accordingly.

What happened to your tractor? That’s a good neighbor you can borrow a tractor from. I don’t know that I could let anyone use mine, that includes my wife. Sweet Score!

We took it to the shop right before we went to MI. They are doing the body work from the boo boo a couple months back...

Big log broke and hit the guard. Glad we have physical damage insurance on it.
Yep, he's a good neighbor, he doesn't use it much. We used it when the transmission was being rebuilt in the L3130. But we also help him with various things and always have to grease and do minor maintenance on his tractor. We also put the 3rd function valve on his tractor for him.

    Water oak sounds heavy.

It is, but not as bad as hickory or sugar maple.

About the same situation above. Our former pastor and great friend, Bro Stan, had dropped this tree in his yard and had limbed most of it.
We helped him finish it and carried the brush to his burn pile... 20260511_160707.jpg 20260511_160701.jpg
Got about 2/3 dump trailer load... 20260511_173920.jpg
I think a good bit will be deer camp farwood, knotty, gnarly logs... 20260511_174522.jpg
    We'll see what it produces
