Which grease do you use?

Ok I just used last of my grease. 90% used on Zero turn and tractor. I got a deal on last set (blue) in color bought 2 cases; My small engine mechanic, since moved out of state said “as long as it meets minimums; matters less what you use than that you actually USE it!

 

I agree...for OPE, match or exceed specs, grease away.
Sometimes on specialized industrial equipment you pretty much need to use a very specific grease/oil, sometimes even OEM only.

 

Same as above, for run of the mill mowers, tractors & such, using any grease is the biggie, to me. I don’t have anything specialized that needs special grease, aviation & so forth.

I’ll get whatever is on sale.

 

Ok Eggshooterist my zero turn is Ferris commercial 11 years old Kubota is 2005 MX5000 so loader and pivot points I will pay a lil extra for better
Your the the oil guy, grease is similar… lubricant
So preferably 1 for both.. I am lazy and use battery grease gun..

It will ruin the crap out of your clothes. Sticky stuff. Like melted mozzarella.

 

I use this for everything else.



I don't need a lot so I'm ok with the cost. Most things don't have grease fittings anymore. Just my Kubota, 60" tiller and mantis mini tiller. Oh, and the 2 outboard motors.

 

Ok do you use separate grease for front axles and others spots on Kubota

if I am at bucket I would normally do front tires and 2 grease guns

 

I have 2 Milwaukee grease guns. The 18v is for all the loader pin grease. Its strong enough to push it if its cold out. The 12v has the "regular" grease for the rest of the tractor, and any other miscellaneous greasing I do. The aforementioned tillers, camper wheel bearings ect. I dislike having two but that heavy equipment grease is excellent for the application it's designed for but not so much for bearings ect.

 

I recently had to buy a new bucket pivot pin because I broke off the grease nipple, then broke off the easy out trying to extract it. 610 hours on the tractor with almost all being loader work, the pin had almost zero wear. Mostly just a high polished look in the heavy contact points. After seeing that, I'll keep using it.

 

Not any kind of expert on the subject, I’ve been using this for a long time and it meets my expectations.

 

I got a free case of this fancy stuff from work I've been using for a couple years now. My boss happens to be a grease expert if such a thing exists and gave it to me knowing what I'd be using it on. It's a blue lithium #2 base with additives. Normaly I use Lubriplate's white lithium multipurpose (#1200-2).

 

I use that too. Readily available, but my grease gun is always two shots away from empty when I pick it up

I have been using this myself. I don't use a ton of it , just a few fittings on the zero turn and whatever the tractor has.
Certainly not nearly as many grease fittings on things like there was years ago.

 

I use Red N Tacky on everything. Is it the best? I don't know.

Using the grease you choose is more important than choosing the grease you use.
