Been meaning to start my annual “march to whatever” thread for a while now and figured I would change the name up. Anyway, had an extremely busy winter making deliveries when I’m usually busy skiing and starting to process wood for the next season. Here is where things stand the first few days in May. I feel like I am way behind here I’ve been at this point the last few years. I also don’t have many nice size logs to process. There is a lot of 36”+ diameter stuff which just eats up time. Have had some nice weather recently so I’ve been hitting it pretty good this past week. Let’s see what I can get done between now and fall. I also included a selfie on my way home from making a delivery this morning. Since people couldn’t get seasoned wood at the end of winter this year, they have been reaching out early to make sure they are stocked up.
And to think, folks are always after me for having so much firewood. I agree that it always seems to take so much longer handling the big stuff plus it is harder on the body. But just keep on plugging along and it gets done. When you get to my age, things go much slower...
Years ago my son had a friend over. He asked if they could have some firewood, the reason being ‘because I have so much’. I knew the family fairly well, like many dads he had a full time job. I do like making firewood, but don’t mind going fishing or riding the motorcycle, etc.. I know many that are much more likely to be out having fun rather than making firewood.
