40 headed to 60. I believe we are finished burning as well. Might light the oil a time or 2 to take the edge off the chill but doubtful. It's hoodie weather, which I love.
Was up to,25" when I went to bed at 10:30. I see we have another 1/4" so far with more coming this evening with a high of 70f for the day.
Yesterday was the First time in over 8 months that we’ve gotten any real moisture. And the temperature struggled to get to 40 if it made it at all. Cool and damp conditions caused Yesterday to be the first fire I’ve had in maybe two months. Hauled in a mix of spruce, pine, elm, and ash. The weather forecast shows that the stove is going to be used for a considerable portion of the coming week! I DONT CARE, LET IT RAIN!!!!!
38* last night. Wif is home til afternoon so I started a fire after I rolled out a little before six. Turned the heat pump on to heat to 66* where it will quickly be overrun by the wood stove. Wif got up to a toasty house and after breakfast we had our usual coffee and chat in front of the fire . Doug Fir and a big chunk of Cherry producing the heat. Fire will be out by noon to avoid the "too hot to sleep"syndrome.
So the house wouldn’t climb above 65 today and with temps dropping further, decided to light up. All I have is black locust splits. Didn’t light very quickly.
Day started as upper 50s and raining outside but wind is picking up and temp is dropping. So I lit the shop stove on a couple pieces of maple and a stray ash split. I just don’t like working in a chilling shop and a comfortable temperature varies with the season. Dead of winter 50 feels nice in the shop, spring and fall 60 has a chill to it on a grey day. Plus my shop cat is addicted to a warm stove.
