I did for maybe an hour last year just killing time while he was busy. Sweet machine and the only way I like splitting vertical. Four way on one side and single on the other. Fast cycling with foot pedal operation. Log lift on both sides. An ideal machine for your set up IMO based on pics I've seen. He told me the production rate with two operators and it was rather impressive.

He's been after me to cut. Mostly oak with hickory in the distance of the second pic. 400 & 462 had a tank run through them then the 500 finished the rest. 20" bar used. 26" diameter on the biggest hickory. Back at it again today as his wood processer broke so I'll be cutting smaller logs. DSCF0870.JPG DSCF0871.JPG

It must feel nice to be back. Maybe you have someone to take the oak directly to.

Hot dog for breakfast or lunch?

It was a cushy lunch!

I think that's his bulldogs toy.

It was good to be back, but after 8.5 hours today I need some rest. Feeling it tonight...back and chain sawyers elbow...tendonitious.

He is acquiring many 20 yard dumpster fulls of logs from another guy/tree service. He brought in several this afternoon. Good mix of species. CT maybe 1.5 of them plus the other stuff from yesterday that was left over. Wants me told cut tomorrow and next week. Tomorrow no next week yes.

There was several SBH logs in a couple loads. Nice and fresh. I asked for them twice. Ill keep asking next week.

8.5 hours yesterday. Cleaned up the prior days logs as he sorted them out. He'll separate oak, hickory, cherry, ash, beech and mixed maple when he gets them in quantity. Skinny logs in the last pic will go through his processor when its fixed. Im the processor for now! :saw: Second pic is all oak. DSCF0873.JPG DSCF0872.JPG DSCF0874.JPG
He was bringing 15 yard dumpster fulls in the afternoon from a local source. He hauled in 4-5 of them. Thinking I bucked around 1.5. Mostly maple was being cut along with ash in the latter loads. Hardwood mix (mostly maple) in the big mound coming off the conveyor. No metal hit this time, but some dirty ash logs later on had me cursing! DSCF0875.JPG DSCF0876.JPG
Wanted me to come in today but I need a rest. Booked me for a couple days at least next week.
