I really don't think anyone can answer that.

I've read that a raindrop can pass from duluth mn to the st. lawerence seaway is as little as 2-3 weeks and also have read where it takes over 200 years.

Why is it that when someone sees a closed gate across a driveway they think, FREE PARKING SPOT?

Got home today and here's this car parked in my driveway. First thing outta the guys mouth, " Is this your driveway?". Then he said he's waiting to do a home inspection just down the road. Why not wait in their driveway!?!?!? :hair::hair::hair:

Interesting. I have often thought that a newer aluminum superduty would probably get comparable mileage to my 5.7 hemi ram 1500. But compared to a newer F-150? Maybe I'd be surprised. My dad had a 4 cylinder hatchback that was about as thirsty as my ram, though there was probably something wrong with it.
I'm also a firm believer in a variance between identical vehicles. Rear end ratio and whatnot plays a factor too.

Parts and tires are generally more expensive as a truck increases in size too, but there are exceptions to every rule. The best combo for me, technically, would likely be a maverick and an older F-250. A fuel efficient rig that's still capable of odds and ends, comfortable and capable enough to handle my commutes and trips most days, and a "real truck" available for heavier or high volume loads.
But I wanted a 13th gen F-150 for a long time, and my ram is at that stage where it's not worth enough to sell, and too good to throw away. So that's what I'll have for the foreseeable future.

We ended up getting that high mileage gold Yukon. Both of us drove to town to drop it off for tires and work on locks, I was nervous without a drivers license

IDK. I get tired of making excuses for people. I can kinda understand but he was an older guy, probably in his 50s and maybe even 60s, definitely older than I am. Town is literally 1.5 miles in the other direction. Find a parking spot there to wait.

Would be totally different if this was the first time it's happened since I moved here but it's not. I probably can't count on both hands how many times someone's been in my driveway and wasn't supposed to be.

Iirr, tree service did it last. Backed in just like this guy, sitting there eating their lunch.

Frankly, the van is more versatile. The combinations of seats up or down you can create, make for some great compromises between passengers and various cargo.
Honestly, minivans aren't thought of as cool vehicles, but I actually like the old school ones. The newer ones usually have funkier styling than I care for.

I kind of think a better, updated version of the avalanche would be a very practical vehicle. I suppose they wouldn't sell well because too many people would call it a soccer mom truck, but think about it. Full size backseat when needed, effectively an 8' bed with the midgate dropped. Best of both worlds in the same wheelbase as an RCLB or CCSB. I suspect most people need one or the other more often than both at the same time, and if you do occasionally have a long load and 4 passengers simultaneously, you're only back to securing it into the 5' bed like is done so often anyway.
Probably it's one of those ideas that sounds better in theory than it works out in real life, or I imagine it would have caught on better before now. But it sounds good in theory.

FYI: Anything with a shorter than 8ft bed is a soccer mom truck. That usually gets their panties in a wad. :D

My f-150 has a 6.5 ft bed, but I find your analysis hilarious!

theburtman for what it's worth, I drive a Grand Cherokee. Not many/nobody gives me a hard time about it being the girl Jeep. Wrangler = guy Jeep. Grand Cherokee = girl Jeep. It's such an easy one, I just don't understand.

Doing computer installations in 1990s had caravan
Not cool but it held towers and monitors in a dry space..

People buy what works for them. I choose Ridgeline over Odessy or Pilot as I had rental units putting fridge or stove in a van challenging versus in the bed of truck easier.. if I am cleaning out a tenants fridge and garbage and unit went without power that “stuff” stinks it is not going in cabin with Me

real easy wash out bed when done vs spoiled milk in carpet in the cab.

just my opinion, not saying your opinion is not right for you..

by "more versatile" I was trying to average out all the different items and materials that the "average joe" might haul occasionally.

For things like that, you're absolutely right. But I've hauled some nasty stuff in cabs all the same
